Since they opened Riverview Pilates in September of 2017, she and her husband Bob are very happy to have a Pilates Studio they can call their own.

Terese Pampellonne came to New York via a scholarship to the Alvin Ailey Dance School.  From there she worked with a variety of choreographers (Molissa Fenley, Nina Weiner, BeBe Miller) culminating in her acceptance into the Elisa Monte Dance Co.  After performing (both as ensemble member and soloist) and touring internationally for a number of years she decided to pursue acting, her most notable work occurring with the Attic Ensemble (Corinna Stroller/House of Blue Leaves, Dr. Livingston/Agnes of God).

Though she enjoyed having a career in the performing arts, she had always regretted not finishing college so she went back to school, receiving a B.A. in English from Hunter College.  From there she continued her education by being accepted into Hunter College's inaugural MFA program in Creative Writing under the direction of Chang Rai Lee.  After the completion of the program she went on to publish her novel, The Unwelcome Child (Kensington 2005) as well as short fiction in numerous literary journals.  In addition to her prose, she's a playwright whose plays have been performed here in New York City by various theater companies.

What makes Riverview Pilates different?

In 2002 she acquired her Pilates certification from Power Pilates, and has taught Pilates for the past nineteen years in gyms, physical therapy practices, as well as privately. Though she no longer pursues the life as a dancer, actor or writer, those talents and skills now inform her abilities as a Pilates instructor: Dance has given her an understanding of movement and the body that only a lifetime of study can give; As an actor, she learned how to be fully present in the moment as well as relate to students from all walks of life; and as a writer she has the ability to communicate the sometimes complex ideas behind Pilates into simple, comprehensive instruction.
